Mia says “I would recommend going to Paignton Zoo. I loved the giraffes because we saw a baby giraffe with its mum. It was cute. All the giraffes were running around in their enclosure. WARNING! If you buy an ice-cream you’d better watch out because a seagull might snatch it right out of your hand (it happened to me!).”
Felix says “I saw a lion roar and a massive snake in the water. I helped to scare the birds away after they stole Mia’s ice-cream”.
Katie (mum) says “We listened to a talk about the rhinos at Paignton and rhino conservation. From 30th July to 9th October you can travel around Exeter and the English Riviera spotting life-size decorated rhinos. Prizes for people spotting all 42. See www.greatbigrhinos.org.uk for more information.
We spent in total for a family of four: £64.89 This comprised £48.55 for zoo entry (we could have bought a combined ticket for Torquay’s Living Coasts too but we didn’t), £6.75 on coffee and hot chocolate, £5.70 on ice cream, £1.90 on another ice cream, and £1.99 on sweets to replace the second ice cream that ended up on the floor when Mia tripped over! We had a picnic lunch but there were lots of places to eat including a new pizza cabin near the new playground. Plenty of picnic tables available. All in all a good day out.
