Get digging at diggerland

Diggerland Devon at Willand is one of our nearest visitor attractions, just fifteen minutes away from Halsbeer Farm's self catering holiday cottages.

It has fun for all the family - particularly those who love JCBs and other vehicles. It's very hands on with rides and diggers to move to do tasks.

This season you can benefit from 25% off walk up entrance at Diggerland when you stay outside July and August. For full voucher Ts and Cs see Diggerland's voucher terms webpage where you will also find handy FAQs to help you plan your stay.

Please note that the voucher is only valid for use when you pay on arrival at Diggerland and is for up to four people. It is not valid during July and August (their rules not ours!). Voucher will be sent automatically by our booking system with your deposit payment receipt.

Spring is here, come on in...

The cottages and surrounds are looking and sounding spectacular at the moment. The playground is full of colourful primroses, the blossom is out on the blackthorn and the gunnera by the pond are growing great guns. The birdsong in the morning is something else. I've been enjoying seeing how many different species I can rack up on the Merlin app.

We've been open for the season now for a couple of weeks, having kicked off with a super successful and very sunny retreat weekend on the Spring Equinox.

We are full this week with Easter guests but we do have availability in Apple (sleeps 3) and Cider (6) from Friday 10th April and in Swallow (6) from Saturday 11th April. Hay (7) is fully booked 'til Friday 17th.

Three night minimum stays from £80 a night in Apple, £120 a night in Cider and Swallow. Flexible check in and departure days throughout April.

A reminder to please follow the Countryside Code when out walking:

The bluebells are coming out along the lanes and in the ancient woodland. It is a gorgeous time to get out and explore our footpaths and bridleways. However, please be sure to close gates behind you and keep dogs on lead around livestock including horses. Our neighbours at Blackborough House stables have horses including a pregnant mare in their parkland field through which a footpath runs so please make especially sure to close gates and keep your dogs on lead. New laws have recently come into force regarding dogs and livestock worrying. Please also take any rubbish including dog waste home with you to dispose of responsibly. Thank you.

Refurb news:
The main project Mark and Graeme undertook this winter was renovating the windows in the communal conservatory. That involved replacing the rotten windowsills, replacing blown glass and giving the whole thing a smart new paint job. So far I've neglected to get photos of the finished product so will upload some to our social media feeds as soon as possible.
