One of the joys of a self-catering holiday is that you can cook what you like when you like. All four of our cottages have fully equipped kitchens for you to cook up a storm when you stay. All have electric ovens, hobs and microwaves. Swallow, Cider and Hay have full-size fridge freezers. Apple has an under counter fridge with a freezer compartment. Swallow is the best cottage to use if you wish to have a caterer or private chef cook for you and serve a large group in the conservatory. ​WHERE TO SHOP FOR FOOD

Kentisbeare Village Store - our local village shop is only a mile and a half away in the beautiful village of Kentisbeare. It sells a range of local produce and newspapers along with delicious pasties, tea-time treats and freshly cooked pastries on Saturday mornings. 01884 266225

​FARM SHOPS & BUTCHERS

Fordmore Farm Shop - our nearest and newest farm shop, Fordmore is on the A373 between Post Cross (the turning out of Kentisbeare) and Cullompton. Look out for it on the left as you head towards town. It sells local produce including fresh fruit and veg, free range meat and freshly-caught fish along with bread, milk, ready made desserts and great shortcut ideas like pavlova bases, roasting kits including stuffing/gravy etc and lots more. There are some great foodie gifts too. If you are spending Christmas at Halsbeer consider purchasing your festive meat here. 01884 839742

Mole Valley is a little further towards Cullompton on the right before you reach the M5 junction. It has a good range of food including cakes, bread and fresh meat and three large freezers stocking COOK frozen ready meals, perfect for easy entertaining while on holiday. 01884 34333

Veyseys Butchers in Cullompton is an award-winning traditional butcher. Fabulous BBQ boxes and they deliver too. If you want to visit there is a small car park at the rear but take care turning in, alternatively park on the high street and walk along.

Farther afield are Halberton Court Farm Shop near Tiverton (excellent for pick your own strawberries in summer), Darts Farm in Topsham and Greendale near Crealy Theme Park.

​FARMERS' MARKETS

Cullompton's farmer's market is held on the second, fourth and fifth Saturdays of each month in the Higher Bull Ring (the wide area of the High Street). 
Honiton holds markets on the High Street weekly ever Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. 
Tiverton has an attractive pannier market which is open six days a week.

​SUPERMARKETS

Our nearest large supermarket is Tesco in Cullompton, where there is also an Aldi. Honiton has Tesco, Aldi and Lidl. There is a Nisa Local in Uffculme and a Co-op in Willand. 

OUTSIDE CATERING & Private Chefs

We have had various caterers provide food to groups staying in the cottages, served in our beautiful conservatory where we can set up a long banqueting type table or have a more informal buffet set up.
