Use Halsbeer Farm in Google Maps rather than our postcode which is not exact.

Halsbeer Farm is situated between the villages of Kentisbeare and Blackborough near Cullompton. With close links to the M5 and the A30/A303 it is really easy to get yourself to our spot in the Blackdown Hills without too much fuss. It is easiest to have your own car but if you do need to arrive by public transport there are trains to both Tiverton Parkway and Honiton just 15-20 minutes away and coaches to Tiverton, Exeter and even Cullompton. The nearest airport is Exeter, but Bristol is another alternative.

We are situated down quite a few lanes in a rural area so it is wise to have a print out of these directions in case you don't have mobile reception on your approach. You should receive a pre-arrival email with directions too about a week before your stay that you can refer to.

We are located between two postcodes (EX15 2HW points at our neighbours at nearby Mortimer's Farm whereas EX15 2HN points to our more distant neighbours at All Hallows Farm) so satnav is not always reliable in this area so we don't recommend following it.

Google Maps should recognise Halsbeer Farm as a location. Please be aware that the driveway to the cottages is from the lane leading from Mortimer's Cross to Mortimer's Farm to the south of the property and not from the North (which is the entrance to Blackdown Yurts - no through road to Halsbeer Farm from there). Look out for our grey roadsigns.
Directions from the M5 at Cullompton
• Leave the M5 at Junction 28 and follow the signs to Honiton along the A373 (left if travelling south on the M5 or right and over the M5 if travelling north). (We do not advise leaving the M5 at J27 even if your satnav does!)
• Continue along the A373 for approximately 2 miles and turn left at ‘Post Cross’ which is signposted to Kentisbeare & Blackborough.
• Continue straight and after another half a mile the road will dip downhill into the village of Kentisbeare.
• In Kentisbeare turn right as you reach the Post Office & village shop on your right and pub (The Wyndam Arms) on your left. You should now be travelling down the road directly opposite and away from the pub.
• Continue through the village (past the primary school on your left) and out the other side.
• The road straightens and after a few hundred yards bends to the left at which point there is a right turn. Take the right turn.
• Continue along this road for about half a mile until you reach a crossroads. This is 'Mortimer's Cross'
• Go straight ahead at the crossroads following the sign for Halsbeer Farm.
• After 100yds take our driveway to the left over a cattlegrid.
• Follow the gravel driveway through the field and park in the car park between the swimming pool building and Hay Barn. We find parking works best if you park facing the hill. If your party has more than one car you may need to double park one behind the other if the car park is busy. An overflow car park is available before the cattle grid. Please don't park on the grass.
Directions from the A30
• Leave the A30 at Honiton and drive along the High Street through the town.
• As the the road splits into two lanes, take the right hand lane and turn right at the traffic lights signposted for Cullompton and Awliscombe.
• You are now on the A373 to Cullompton.
• Follow this road for approximatley 6 miles.
• Just after the village of Dulford you will pass the Keepers Cottage Pub on your left hand side.
• Take the next turning on your right at ‘Post Cross’ which is signposted left to Kentisbeare & Blackborough.
• Continue straight and after another half a mile the road will dip downhill into the village of Kentisbeare.
• In Kentisbeare turn right as you reach the Post Office & village shop on your right and pub (The Wyndham Arms) on your left. You should now be travelling directly away from the pub.
• Continue through the village (past the primary school on your left) and out the other side.
• The road straightens and after a few hundred yards bends to the left at which point there is a right turn signed 'Pirzwell'. Take the right turn and continue along this road for about half a mile until you reach a crossroads. This is 'Mortimer's Cross'.
